Kamloops Food Bank

Food insecurity is not something that we can always predict. Sometimes unforeseeable circumstances like natural disaster can result in inability to regularly access food because of loss of job or loss of home. Located in Kamloops at 171 Wilson Street, the Kamloops Food Bank is one of just a few places on Kamloops that offers free food for those in need. The overarching vision of the organization is to help foster a hunger free community. According to their website the Kamloops Foodbank’s roots are in the Kamloops United Church in response to the high inflation rates of the early 1980s. The Foodbank moved to the current Wilson Street location in 2002. 6421 individuals accessed the Foodbank’s services in 2015. The people who work and volunteer at the Foodbank have the shared goal of feeding hope for individuals and families in need, strengthening the Kamloops community.
